Here are some handy tips to dial in arcade and node settings for RFPay systems.

Node startup

When you first power the node on, you should see the RFPay logo and a bunch of startup messages, this is the bootup screen.

(***If your screen shows only white text on black background, get in touch with us for a firmware upgrade)

Startup Troubleshooting:

Server Connection

If the node is able to connect to a server, you’ll briefly see the message “checkin to server: SUCCESS” and the screen will clear and show something like “scan card to play”.

Other modes (like kiosk, cashier, etc) may look a little different.

<aside> ⚠️ tip: If you see “Unassigned Node” on a red background, then the node is connected to the server correctly. However, you still need to go into your RFPay admin webpage and designate this Node as a Machine [Arcade], or designate it as a Cashier or Kiosk node.

Further Troubleshooting

The following techniques can help narrow down if you have an issue with the Node hardware itself, vs a server connection or configuration issue.

LED Lights and LCD screen test

When the node starts, you should see the LEDs around the screen begin a slow, circular, color-cycle animation. This is the “idle pattern”.

Once you see the LED idle pattern, the rfid scanning hardware inside the node is ready for use.
